If you’ve been on disability, live in Texas & are turning 65 you CAN enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan (Medigap) with Guaranteed Issue – which means NO medical underwriting & No taking pre-existing conditions into account.
Since there is little, if any, compensation for agents using this specific Guaranteed Issue option you might not be made aware of this.
If your Medicare Parts A & B were effective prior to 01/01/2020 you may enroll in Plan F with Guaranteed Issue, which is great news! Unfortunately Plan G will not be available to you, but Plan F provides excellent coverage, it’s just more expensive overall than Plan G.
This is important information to know because having qualified for disability you undoubtedly have dealt with some complex medical issues, which means that going forward you are likely to be dealing with those same issues.
While Medicare Advantage is “less expensive” in monthly premiums it can end up being far more expensive than Medicare Supplement for those with medical issues.
Since Medicare Supplement is very picky about who they will accept outside of the one-time Guaranteed Issue, it’s very important to not miss out on this opportunity.
